Alg[class,index]

is notation used to identify the various compact simple Lie algebras, e.g., Alg["A",2].

Details and Options

  • The valid algebras are the ordinary Lie algebras A_n, B_n, C_n, and D_n; and the Lie exceptional E_(6,7,8), F_4, and G_2.
  • Alg objects are used as input in various group theory functions.
  • When working with groups (e.g. gauge groups), the Lie algebra associated with a group can be referenced with the group short-hand SU, SO, and Sp.
