UFO

UFO

is an option of DefineField, DefineCoupling, and DefineGaugeGroup, that can be used to provide auxiliary information that is used by ExportUFO but not needed for the core Matchete functionality. If the UFO option is not provided, default values will be automatically determined based on the field and coupling labels used in Matchete. The only exception are PDG codes ("pdg") for particles, which are mandatory for generating UFO files.

Details and Options

  • The value of UFO must be an association with the allowed keys: "pdg", "name", "mass", "width", "coupling".

Examples

Basic Examples  (1)

As an example we can define the QED gauge group:

where the photon field is assigned its PDG code 22, the name used for the python files in ExportUFO is set to 'A', while the electric gauge coupling ℯ is assigned the name 'ge' in the python files. Note that the keys "mass" and "width" are not allowed for DefineGaugeGroup.

Next, we can define the charged lepton field of the broken phase, which is a flavor triplet with charge -1:

Here, the information provided through the UFO option is each given as a list with three entries, one for each flavor component. For example, the PDG codes of the electron, muon, and tau are given by 11, 13, and 15, respectively. Note that the key "coupling" is not allowed for DefineField.

As a last example, we define the CKM matrix:

where, since the CKM is a 3-by-3 matrix in flavor space, we provide the names for every CKM matrix element separately.
